Oh wow lovely

Anja and I checked out some antique malls in the Hollywood district today and I had a lucky find! I've wanted one of these Beatrix Potter figurines for ages but they are always outrageously expensive. This little guy had a broken arm, but I don't mind that, so he was only $4 and now he's mine!

Here is what's going on lately: Slowly working on brooches, watching Skins finally (oh I love those kids!), hating the bus more and more, cherry blossoms coming out, going to lunch with friends, not getting the cold everyone else had, reading Wise Children by Angela Carter on the roof in the sunshine, frozen yogurt with mango, feeling socially and artistically inadequate, perfect heavy rainy gloomy days (except for yesterday), not working on things I should be, looking for the perfect spring dress and scarf, wondering what to do about my poor outdated website, looking forward to my upcoming trips to Michigan and Maine.

Oh wow! I am in utter jealousy over that Beatrix Potter figure!

Michigan and Maine, really? Funnily enough, Maine is just a 45 minute drive for me, and I'm going to be visiting home (Michigan) in April for my birthday. What brings you to those states?

Lastly, I placed an oder with you during the buy-2-get-one sale. I'm hoping that all went through okay and you got the notes I included! :)

You've been tagged because I love your blog! It's the Show Your Heart tag.

With as much creativity as you can muster, show your heart in:
1 picture
1 poem
1 song or piece of music
1 phrase or quote
1 item of clothing
1 place
[And just for fun-] 1 Disney princess!

You, my dear, don't need to ever feel inadequate. YOU humble me and several other folks I know with your beautiful world!

Also, I've been meaning to tell you this, a good source for velvet ribbon in pretty colors (if'n you can't find the vintage ones you desire) is threadart.com...their ribbon comes in really quirky, beautiful vintage-y colors.

Also, Rasputina Tuesday?

happy weekend, you!

Oh, Angela Carter is really wonderful. If you like Wise Children, you might also enjoy Nights at the Circus. Thanks as always for your lovely pictures. I have a bird you drew up in my bedroom and the cat and I give it look every morning.
