I love the fresh feeling of January. This year is off to a good start, though it's cold and snowy so it's hard to keep from hibernating. I should be trying to get back into a routine, but things are not the same as they were in 09 and I don't want them to feel like they are. My new routine is going to be: Not doing things I don’t want to do, doing more things I do want to do, more drinking champagne and eating caviar, more getting out of the city, less comparing of the amounts of work I am doing to the amount it seems like other people are doing, less comparing myself to other people in general, less being stressed over things that don’t matter, more changing things if I don’t like them.

with such a beautifully positive attitude to the new year i feel this will be a magical year for you! x
Ah! And we never see ourselves as others see us! I think that the internet can almost dilute our experience, especially the concentration of imagery that we are constantly exposed to - inspiration on the one hand, and the temptation to compare ourselves and feel swamped on the other hand!
From this distance you always seem to get it just right. Your work continues to delight regardless of how frequently you create it. Good luck with all that you pursue this coming year, and above all, have faith in the beauty of your art:) x
Your resolutions are the most sound and lovely I've yet seen! And I quite agree with them all! :) Especially "less comparing of the amounts of work I am doing to the amount it seems like other people are doing, less comparing myself to other people in general, less being stressed over things that don’t matter". This is perfectly put!!
I'm personally trying to worry over things less...if I can accomplish that I think I shall have made my 2010 heavenly, indeed!
Oh, and I quite agree with what Miss Art and Ghosts said about your work....Your work is always stunning, magical, creative and oh so thoughtful!
Aaargh. I do the whole comparing thing too and I am so sick of it! I wish I could just make it magically go away. It feels nice to know I am not the only one doing it. I'll wish you good luck and success with your list: it is full of great stuff :) Happy New Year!
You are all so sweet, thanks for your lovely comments:)
Littlebyrd, you are most definitely not alone there!
I like the way you think!!
Happy 2010!

happy, happy 2010.

Happy New year! Yes, I do love a fresh start. I am in agreement with your new year hopes--- I'm wanting to enjoy things more and do more little things just for me. I hope 2010 is a magical year--- and great decade!
Julianna,
You are a both lovely and a badass. Your resolutions are just further proof of this fact.
